Plein air by the beach

Today I went out with the plein air painters and did two quick sketches, one in ink (tree branch) and one in watercolor (bridge). The other drawing is a line drawing that I made in the botanical art class yesterday. We did a lot of experiments with colored pencils.

New flower painting, my talented son

Today I finally finished this floral painting that I started awhile ago.I tried something a little different and didn't trace the photo, instead I just sketched it, and I also didn't try to paint every leaf in the background. The other artwork in today's post is by my talented son, Isaac. He's going off to college this fall, but he created these two paintings and fabric sculpture in his last high school art class. They are all based on "long cat," an Internet theme.
